| What's lokta? It's paper made from a plant in Nepal found in the Nepalese forest between 6500 and 9500 feet high. It's an environmentally sound use since the Nepalese farmers allow time for the plants to grow before harvest and do not over-harvest them. Production of lokta (also called rice paper) does not affect the fragile forest ecology of Nepal, while it does support the income of remote regions.
